Bonsai is an ancient Japanese botanical art form featuring small plants in shallow containers pruned into shapes that mimic the shape and style of mature trees. One of the most popular trees used in the art of bonsai are Ginseng Ficus. They are easy to grow, adaptable, easy to shape and have interestingly shaped thick stems and aerial roots. These bonsai do best in bright, non-direct light and are more drought tolerant than the popular Juniper Bonsai. The oldest juniper bonsai tree in the world is in Omiya, Japan, and is over 1,000 years old, so with proper love and care these plants have the potential to live on for generations!
