Native to Southeast Asia and Hawaii, these tropical plants are known for their vibrant, brightly coloured leaves that are often used to make hula skirts. The Red Sister variety has deep, burgundy red foliage with lighter red stripes on the new leaves. In tropical climates, cordyline are grown as a small tree or bush and can grow up to 10” tall, but as a houseplant is only likely to reach 3 or 4 feet. They grow best in bright, non-direct light, and should be thoroughly watered when the top 2 or 3 inches of soil have dried.
