Native to Brazil, the Bromeliad is an easy to care for tropical plant that thrives in bright, non-direct light. They make a great statement houseplant, with their unique silvery striped leaves surrounding a bright red and yellow flower. In its natural environment, these Bromeliads grow as epiphytes- growing on the bark of trees or other plants. In nature, they collect rain water in their central ‘vase'. The best way to water them is to keep this reservoir full of water, refilling with fresh water once a week, in addition to watering into the soil.
