Native to Mexico and the southern United States, Bunny Ears cacti are prized for their hardiness and their tasty fruit. These cacti love sunlight and will do best in a bright, sunny window, or on a full sun balcony in the summertime. They are desert plants, so they can handle dry condo air with ease, and only need to be watered when their soil is completely dry. With the right conditions, they will bloom large yellow flowers, which turn into bright red fruit. Be careful handling these cacti! Though their prickles don’t look very intimidating, the tiny spines detach very easily and can be irritating if they get stuck to your skin.
