3 Reasons Mother Knows Best
With Mother’s Day on the horizon, now is the time to plan out how we can give back and show our appreciation for all the love our mothers have given to us throughout our lives. She’s been your number one fan cheering you on from the stands, the backup you call in when you totally forgot about that majorly important school project that’s due tomorrow morning, the shoulder to cry on when being a teenager is hard and the voice of reason when you just don’t know what to do. Mother truly knows best, and for good reason. Here are just three we can think of to start you off.
She’s wise
With time comes wisdom… and she’s got some years on you. Any life stage you’re experiencing right now, she’s been through it. She’s made mistakes so you don’t have to! Your mom knows all too well the importance of separating your darks from your lights because she’s turned the load pink once or twice. She knows you should take that coat with you after having spent her fair share of nights looking cute but feeling chilly. When she tells you “if you don’t have anything nice to say, then don’t say anything at all”, those aren’t empty words. They are words of wisdom. How else can you explain the eyes on the back of her head or how nothing is really lost until your mom can’t find it?
She’s seen some stuff
You may not remember it, but she wishes she could forget. Every dirty diaper, sleepless night, seasonal flu, scraped knee, temper tantrum and more. Our mothers love us through it. We come to know compassion and they master the art of patience. Our moms have seen us at our very worst and our very best. Of course they prefer the latter. And so, mothers will do what they do best, guiding us towards the light to reach our potential, our happiness, our JOY. Those two cents might be priceless in retrospect.
She has your best interest at heart
Our moms’ advice isn’t always what we want to hear (maybe it’s what we need to hear, but we digress). With changing times, life experiences and opportunities, no one branch of the matriarchy can be identical to the last. It is the natural way of things. Natural and imperfect and beautiful (our favourite). You may disagree on plenty of things, but the one non-negotiable in your relationship is her unconditional love for you. Even when you question if mother really knows best, you can be sure that wants the best for you, and that has to count for something.
A mother’s love is certainly something special. Let us help you give her some special treatment this year with our 2022 Mother’s Day Collection, now available for pre-order. Listen to your mother and get it done now so you don’t regret it later. Also never ride a motorcycle. ;)
